An Every Day Hero is a very special person who is reaching out across oceans and continents to take the hand of a child suffering with AIDS. By pledging just $1 per day, everyday, these extraordinary Canadians are literally saving a child’s life.
Every Day Heroes, through their monthly donations, provide lifesaving antiretroviral medicines to children with AIDS. ARVs fight HIV by lowering the amount of the virus in the body and allowing the immune system to regenerate.
The impact they make in the health of even the sickest child with AIDS is dramatic and almost immediate, but ARVs are not a cure. Once ARV treatment has begun, it must continue or the child will die.
By becoming an Every Day Hero, you are making a commitment to a child that you will support them in their struggle. The medicine you generously provide will allow that child to lead a healthy life, attend school, and grow up to become a contributing member of society. It will give them the most priceless gift of all: a future.
